Getting there
N'djili International Airport in Kinshasa is the main gateway; eastern visitors often cross overland from Rwanda into Goma or Bukavu when borders are open, and ferries cross the Congo River to Brazzaville.
Best time to visit: Jun–Sep and Dec–Feb – drier periods in the east.
Tougher months: March-April and November-December – the heaviest rains around Kinshasa make travel slow; check local conditions in the east, which has its own pattern.
